03 Required Course
The woman’s problem is that she has to graduate next semester, but didn’t take required course for her major because the course was not offered this semester.
The first option is to take the same course from the community college. The credit can be transferred, but the college is too far away from her home.
The second option is to take the same course from the graduate school. She can get special permission, but it is tough.
In my case, I prefer the first option because it is important to follow the course well for her graduation and she can drive her car to get there.
* take the course from the community college / the graduate school
The man has a problem with the Calculus course.
The first option is to receive help from the graduate students in tutoring center. It will be a great help, but he has to pay them for tutoring.
The second option is to join a study group. He can share ideas and make up for each other’s shortcoming, but he can be busy chatting during their study hours.
In my case, I prefer the first option because it will be worthwhile to pay for the tutoring and it will be never a waste of time if he learn from the professional teachers, not his friends.
01 Shedding Leaves
In the lecture, the professor gives two reasons why trees shed their leaves.
Firstly, plants shed their leaves to prevent themselves from any potential damage. The plant’s cells can be destroyed when the temperature is low. Also, the heave branches covered by snow can be broken.
Secondly, plants shed their leaves so that nutrient can be used by new leaves efficiently. Old branch cannot photosynthesize but needs energy. It is burden to the tree.
