Undoubtedly, living happy life plays a
significant role in people's lives in place they work and even recreational
activities. Some people may say that more possessions lead to happier life,
while others do not think. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that
happier life can be attributed to more possessions. There are several reasons
as follows.
To begin with, possessions allow people to
donate more money. People with more money have more chance to donate money so
that they can live with happier life. For example, according to a study
conducted by University of Maryland in 2013, researchers found that top 10 of
donators were more likely to have a higher annual salary. On the other hand,
most people with relative low annual salary tended to donate little money. This
implies that People who can donate more money would feel happier, considering
that they are able to help more people with their possessions.
Secondly, when people get what they really
like, they can have more positive mind. Possessions can change people's mood,
and even their mind. For instance, when my younger sister used to be depressed
because she always had to get second hand clothes from me or my older brother.
It was hardly possible for her to get her own clothes from a department store.
However, on her 13th birthday, my parents decided to buy new dresses for my
younger sister, hoping that she would feel happy. Later on, after she got some
new clothes, I could see her face better than before. She told me since she get
new clothes, she wanted to hang out with her friend and to show off her new
stuffs. This indicates that having more clothes would change one's feeling to
be happy and positive.
To sum up, I strongly believe that more
possession can lead to happier life for the reasons I mentioned above. Being
able to donate money and getting new clothes can bring a happier mood and even
life. All in all, the advantages of more possessions can far outweigh the
disadvantages of less possessions.
