▶ Your Answer : Some people think that once one is socially respected, he or she can work hard with a low salary, while others do not. If I have to choose one, I would say that even if he or she is socially recognized, people eventually cannot work hard with a low reward, because people can hardly manage their life and there would be no motivation to work hard.
To begin with, people cannot manage their life with a low salary. Even though people are socially admired, they can hardly be happy if people cannot support their family. Therefore, people will not endure with a low salary, because it decrease in their overall happiness. For example, my brother became a lawyer and he worked for non profit organization. He was highly recognized by others, becuase he dedicated for the law case of low income people. However, my brother could not support his children anymore with a low salary, and he was not happy because of it. Finally, He could not help joining in professional law firm.
In addition, in a capitalistic society, a salary is the most important factor to motivate people to work hard. Everyone want to earn money as much as they work. If people receive a low salary with a hard working, no one want to make an more effort. For example, in major league baseball, a player's ability is evaluated by one's salary. Therefore, the baseball players have practiced hard to earn a high salary like player Kershaw. There is no one who do not want a high salary with a good record, because salary is their ability indicator and the most powerful motivation.
All things considered, I strongly believe that people cannot work hard with a low salary even though they are socially respected, because people cannot support their family with a low income and a salary is the most efficient motivation to work hard in a capitalistic economy. |
