Some people think that communication with others indirectly is better than Face-to-face communication. However, in my opinion, face-to-face communication is better. This is because people can obtain more information and they can save time. To begin with, people can reap more information by face-to-face communication. Usually, people use many ways to have a conversation with others such as body language and gestures and these contains many information about speaker’s ideas. Therefore, the face-to-face conversation allows people to get more information. For example, there was a study conducted by the Korea University with students. The study’s main purpose was to determine weather other factors without sound affected people’s understanding when they are talking. Two groups are monitored. the first group consisted of people who could only use their ears when they heard a lecture and the second group was composed of people who could use eyes and ears when they heard a same lecture. Researchers gave same directions and the result was very intriguing. The latter group had more information about the lecture. The researchers said that by using eye-contact people could feel the emotions of speakers. As a result, people could get more information. On top of that, people can save their time. If people use face-to-face conversations they would not need to spend their time to wait responses to solve their problem. Let me take my experience as an example. When I was in college, my church gave me a chance to receive a scholarship. To get the scholarship, I had to submit a reference from my friend. I sent a message to my friend to get a reference using e-mail and I forgot about it in a while. Although, after two weeks, my friend answered me with my reference. I could not submit my reference because the date was expired. If I used face-to-face communication, I could submit my reference on time. To sum up, I believe that face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication. This is due to the fact that, people could obtain more information and they can save their time to receive answers. |
