Opinions differs over whether which is
likely to be decreased by its fund with country’s economic crisis among art, scientific
research, or public park and garden. Each side has their own reasons to support
their view. However, if I were asked to choose one, I would say that the government
should cut their investment off in art. The rationale behind this is that scientific
research is essential for country’s development and art is not usually enjoyed by
people with a short of budget.
To begin with, scientific research is
needed to promote the economy of country. This is because when we develop novel
technology, this can contribute to the economic growth. However, the opposite
sides claim that art or public park is so important that the government use their
money for them even in an economic crisis. On the other hand, their supporting is
mostly groundless and barely convincing. There are numerous examples that cast
doubts on their claims. Among this, this representative case shows that why I
assert that scientific research is important to invest. When I was in
University, my country experienced financial a crisis. However, one of my engineering
professor kept studying on robot. Furthermore, he finally completed his research
on robot vacuum cleaner. This lead to many exports of robot vacuum and it
promotes the economic growth of country. This shows that funds for scientific
research are reasonable in economic crisis.
In addition, people likely to cut their
money on art when the economy is on crisis. This is because art is not necessary
for people’s basic lives and usually can lead to spend more money. There is a
survey result that endorsing thinking of mine. It was carried out a few years
ago, and an absolute majority sided with the reason as I mentioned above. Let
me quote a few interviewees who partook a poll. A middle-aged woman said in the
survey that she usually spent less money on art when she did not have enough
money. She could be stressed out by going musical theater due to her concern
about money for tickets and transportation. A professor mentioned in the survey
that when the GDP of country is decreased, people are unlikely to go to museum
or library. This is because it will take some money to go to there. Naturally,
art exhibitions and museums do not require a lot of fuds for them. This shows
that people are prone to decrease their budget on art when country suffer
economic crisis.
To sum up, people spend less money on art because
it is not essential things for living and scientific research can be an option
for getting over the economic crisis. In this regard, I strongly believe that
the government should reduce their budget for art.
