Evidently, a pet plays a significant role in children’s life where they play. There might be some people who believe that the most effective way for children to learn responsibility is caring for a pet, while others do not think this way. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would say that the best way for them to learn responsibility is spending some time with their pet. There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, regularly playing with pets requires children to be diligent, passionate and self-disciplined. What this means is that when children care for their pets, they should play with their pets on a regular basis. When these personal traits are well developed, they can develop responsibility. Many research teams, For instance, including the Tokyo Research teams, in Tokyo analyzed data from two groups of students in a private elementary school. One group consisted of those who had spent two hours a day playing with their pets on a regular basis and the other group was made up of those who had not did not have pets. The researchers found that the former was more likely to have a higher level of responsibility. In particular, the first groups showed characteristics of stronger passion in tasks, diligence and kindness. This clearly shows that caring for pets is the key to develop responsibility.
On top of that, when children teach train their pets, they can enhance leadership. When they live in their house with pets, they should teach train the pets what kinds of foods the pets can eat and sometimes prevent the pets stop them from barking. This encourage children to become a leader in a real life. Let me bring up my personal example to describe this point. When my sister was in elementary school, she often felt inferior to others. Fortunately, she was able to get over her problem by raising her dog, Sujin. At that time, she should teach train the dog how to mingle well with other dogs at a park and many rules that the dog should follow in her house. By doing this, she also realized how to get closer to others and she even wanted to become a leader in class. So she tended to show a better ability to delay gratification in school and help other students. Many students around her started to respect her, allowing her to be more confident, optimistic and responsible for tasks.
All things considered, I strongly assert that when children want to enhance responsibility, they should raise their pets for the reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, caring for a pet cannot overestimated in the pursuit of responsibility (굉장히 어색하게 들립니다).
