Some people might argue that the past is just
the past, and the present and future is posed under the different situation
from the past, so we don’t need to care about the past. However, in my opinion,
understanding the past time plays a crucial role in dealing with the issues of
the present and the future. As well as problem-solving, we are able to predict
the future’s issues through comprehending the past time.
Firstly, we could eliminate an option that
brought us some negative results among available options. In addition, as
analyzing the reason of the problems that occurred in the past, we could solve
the reason from the present or future issues. For example, great depression
that took place in 1929 revealed the dark side of capitalism that is thought it
would be perfect. The essential and structural reason of Great Depression was
overproduction that’s too surplus to be consumed properly, or the lack of
demand to keep up with demand. After the Great depression, Roosevelt president
introduced revised capitalism to the United States. As a result, most countries
have accepted it to hinder economic loss even nowadays.
Next, interpreting the issues in the past
make us predict the future. Japan is one of the world’s most earthquake-prone
countries, so they could have invented the best way how to evacuate from it and
how to construct buildings. In addition, they could predict how earthquakes
will happen and establish appropriate plans to tailored the situation by
analyzing the reason of earthquake and scale of damages in Japan, which leads
Japanese to behave properly and quickly. These well-preparations could save
numerous people’s lives.
To sum up, figuring out the past is important
to predict what will happen in the future and to prevent problems beforehand. In
this way, it is important to try to know about the past.
