Some people might say that it is hard for
teachers to be famous and to be effective in teaching student while others do
not agree that. Both sides have their own reasons to support their views.
However, If I were asked to choose one, I would say that teachers with excellent
teaching skills are likely to be popular as well. There are several reasons as
follows.
To begin with, when teachers are good at
teaching students, teachers’ popularity is likely to be increased. While many qualities
are asked for teachers, effective skills in teaching is considered as the best
traits for all of the teachers regardless of teaching style. Thus, when this quality
is adopted by some teachers, she or he can be popular among the students. For
example, I will talk about my own story. When I was in high school, I often
depressed and sad because of mathematics. Since mathematics classes were so
difficult to me, I needed a help of a private tutor. Thus, Su-jin who were my
cousin were hired as a tutor by my parents. Studying with her, I could solve a
lot of mathematics problems and my academic performance was tremendously
increased because her lessons were so intensive and great. Her teaching style
was very effective even if it was strict and harsh rather than humorous. Furthermore,
she became a famous teacher among our town being known for her teaching skills and
later on, it was hard for many students to get her lessons due to her popularity.
Without her teaching skills, she would have not been famous.
In addition, when teachers are popular by
being nice to students, giving words of wisdom, students will try to
concentrate more on their classes. It is difficult for students to ignore their
admirable teachers’ expectation. Moreover, teachers who are really care about
their students are highly likely to horn their teaching skills. As a result,
students’ academic performance will be increased. For instance, according to a
research conducted by Tokyo university, there were a huge difference between
two groups of teenagers. The former was made up of those who had a class of
their respectable teacher and the latter consisted of those who had a class of
teacher who were unfavorable. The researchers found that the former
outperformed the latter by 20 percent in their school grades. Furthermore, the
former students were more prompt in time and diligent while the students of
latter tended to be procrastinate and get easily distracted. This trend showed
that teachers who gained popularity were likely to have better result in their
teaching methods.
To sum up, I strongly believe that teachers
with great teaching skills tend to become famous and popular teachers are
likely to be successful in teaching. All things considered, it is hard to say
that teachers cannot have both popularity and effective teaching skills.
