▶ Your Answer :
It is evident that in our society, places to live has a tremendous importance in our lives. Some people think that it is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city while others do not. However, I believe that to grow in a big city is better for children. And there are several reasons that I could discuss to support my argument, so I will limit my discussion to the two that I feel are most relevant to the topic : the concepts of relationship and success. First of all, the most important reason why children should be raised in a big city is that they can have a better social life. It is no secret that individualism is typically hindering us from socializing nowadays. So, it can be said that they have to live in an urban area, otherwise they cannot expand their social network. My uncle is a really good example. When he was a child, he lived in the countryside. Since there were only few kids around his age, he had only few friends. To enter the good university he needed someone to help his study. Then he realized that he had too narrow social network. None of his friend studied well. So he had no choice but to struggle himself. And after pass the entrance exam, he lived in Seoul, the biggest city in Korea. There he met so many people. He learned how to interact people and how to make girl friend. He told me many time that he would never make so many people if he was in the countryside forever. So, my uncle's experience clearly shows that children should not grow up in a rural area. Another reason which supports my argument is that people are more likely to achieve great success. It is no secret that many people get ahead of the game with the help of education. Thus, to get better education, children must be raised in an urban area. This reminds me of the time when I was in an elementary school. Since I lived in Seoul, the biggest city in Korea, I could learn from excellent teachers. And since there were many libraries around my home, I could read so many books. If I lived in farmland, I would never read such many books due to the lack of libraries in farmland. My experience clearly proves my point. Children have to be in a big city. All things considered, with the reasons I mentioned above, I think that I sufficiently and adequately explained my position regarding to the topic. |
