▶ Your Answer : It is debatable wheather children have to learn to manage their own money to grow into financially responsible adults. This is an intriguing question because opinions concerning this issue can be different relying on the individual perspectives. In my opinion, however, I support that children should practice manage their own money for the following reasons. To begin with, people can learn the skills to manage money better when they learn it at young age. This is because the fact that what we learn at early age lasts longer than what we learn at later age. When we learn something at childhood, it becomes part of our habit. If we once make it a rule to manage our money carefully with plans, we can do that naturally when we grow into adults since it has become our habits. According to the study conducted by Seoul national university support this idea. One group was formed of elementary studens who have to keep their diary about their expences. And the other group was consisted of students who did not. Researchers tracked them until they become adults. The result was intriguing. The former group had more 10 percent of total asset than the latter group even though their average income was almost same. This shows that people who learn to manage their money at early age are more likely to manage their income better when they grow up, which lead to spend their money more carefully and responsibly. On top of that, if people did not learn how to manage their own money when they are young, they will have a hard time learning it when they get older. I will take an example of my close friends to illustrate this point. One of my friend was from well-off family. His father gave him money as much as he asks, and he spent all of it. Now he become a lawyer and earn a quite amount of moeny, but he has trouble with money all the time asks his friends to borrow some moeny becasue he was of accustomed to spend money haphazard. In this regard, I firmly believe that people shoud learn how to manage their own money to grow into financially responsible adults because what we learn at early age lasts longer and it is hard to learn it after we become adults. |
